Visitors often tell us that we are the friendliest church they have ever been to. We want that to be true so that your experience with us is a joyous one. Visiting any church, for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to MBC will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.
  • I’m Not a Baptist… Can I Still Attend? It is our desire that MBC would be a church for everyone that has a desire to know God. You do not have to come from a Baptist background, or hold to any particular religious affiliation to attend services here. We are convinced that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is sufficient to point any sincere person to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have a desire to know God and experience His best in your life, we invite you to join us on the journey! If there is any way that we can be of help to you please feel free to let us know.
  • What Kinds of People are There? On a typical Sunday, you’ll see all kinds of people- from high school to senior adults. We are a multi-generational church with people from all walks of life.
  • What about my kids? As you’ll see from the areas of the website describing our youth and children’s ministry, we have a full range of classes and activities for your kids.

You’ll be a visitor once, but a stranger never.

What We Believe

  • Our Mission: We purpose to glorify God by fulfilling the three commands of the Great Commission: Evangelize, Baptize, and Train people.
  • Our Vision: Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  • What We Believe About The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the divinely breathed, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God.
  • What We Believe About God: We believe that there it one God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
  • What We Believe About Jesus: We believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His unqualified deity, His sinless humanity and perfect life, His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father’s right hand.
  • What We Believe About the Rapture: We believe in the Blessed Hope – the Rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming, and His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule for a thousand years.
  • What We Believe About Salvation: We believe that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer’s behalf solely on the merits of Christ, and that regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  • What We Believe About the Church: We believe in Christ’s Lordship of the Church, the observance of the ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion for believers, and the Lord’s Supper.
  • What We Believe About Eternity: We believe in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in heaven and the eternal doom of the unregenerate in the lake of fire.

Our Leadership

  •  John Dinaso: Is the senior and founding pastor of Mercy Baptist Church. MBC of Leesburg is the second church plant in which Pastor has had the honor and privilege of overseeing over the course of the past seven-years, all for the glory of God's kingdom. Pastor was led back to Florida in 2017 to start this church plant in his home state in order to give back the positive return of the communities investment in him as a child. Growing up, Pastor sensed a calling to ministry by the age of 17. As a young man he attended King High School where he was a student in the Gifted and Talented Education program (GATE), as a result, studied biology at Bethune-Cookman University. Throughout his teenage years he was active in various athletic programs such as volleyball and basketball.
  • Credentials: Later in life, and after completing his Associates Degree in Social Work at Cornerstone University. Thereafter, Pastor transferred to Moody Bible Institute to attain his Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies and Moody Theological Seminary for his Master of Divinity Degree (M.Div) and will consequently earn a Ph.D in Theology.
  • Family Orientation: Pastor and his wife Candy were married on August 18th of 2010 and began their first church plant and pastorate together at MBC in Bellevue, MI. The Lord has blessed them with many loving years and a son on September 1st, 2016. Although Pastor loves hunting and salt water fishing; preaching and teaching the Word of God is his true passion. Preaching through books of the Bible exegetically is a thrill to him as the Bible comes alive and answers contemporary questions. Also, he has a great passion to reach other people for Christ and uses other activities to create, and cultivate personal relationships for the spread of the gospel.
  • Pastor's Favorite Quote: Let no man dream that a sudden crotchet has entered our head, and that we have written in hot haste: we have waited long, perhaps too long, and have been slow to speak. Neither let anyone suppose that we build up our statements upon a few isolated facts. We have had no motive but the general progress of the cause of truth, and the glory of God. (C.H.S.)
